Exciting approach to visual inspections begins to take flight.
You may have seen a neighborhood child flying one around their front yard. Or your realtor may have shown you a video recorded with one for a virtual house tour. Drones are becoming more and more ingrained into our daily lives – even in how our electricity is generated.
For more than 30 years, utilities have relied on Westinghouse to provide visual inspections of their sites to help ensure safe and reliable operation. Through a strategic partnership with Interactive Aerial, we’ve now combined that experience with drone technology to offer a more cost-effective and safer solution for outdoor and indoor inspection services.
The Legacy One drone has the capability to fly in various environments by using advanced sensors to eliminate the possibility of inflight collision. Available for your next outage, this technology allows for in-containment flights that can reach areas that previously required costly scaffold builds and eliminates the risk of having a worker in potentially dangerous conditions. The Legacy One has also been tested for radiological hardness at our own facilities to prove its capability to fly in radiological environments unfit for human intervention.
Providing our partners with access to cutting-edge technology is part of our commitment to driving down costs and increasing plant safety and efficiency.
