Westinghouse employees participated in the 2026 American Heart Association’s Midlands Heart Walk on Saturday, March 28 at Segra Park in Columbia, SC.  The walk drew over 2000 participants and honored those who are surviors and those whose lives were impacted by heart disease.

Westinghouse WIN-Columbia chapter members participated in a public outreach event to support Pi Day at EdVenture Children’s Museum at Columbia. The Pi Day is a kickoff  event to celebrate STEM Education Month (March 14-April 14). Edventure joins their partners from across the state, including those with the South Carolina Coalition for Mathematics and Science (SCCMS) and the regional S2TEM Centers. A presentation on “The Power of Atoms” was given explaining how nuclear power is generated. We also led the group with the activities of building a 3D atom and electroscope demonstration. There are also activities by other groups throughout the day to inspire visitors while engaging them in presentations and information.
