Sponsorship of $25,000 Supports New Recreation Facility to Promote Long-Term Community Wellness and Growth

Saugeen Shores, Ontario, February 17, 2026 – Westinghouse Electric Canada announces a $25,000 sponsorship of the Pryde Aquatic and Wellness Centre, a new state-of-the-art aquatic and wellness centre in the Town of Saugeen Shores. The Pryde Aquatic and Wellness Centre features an eight-lane pool, warm water leisure pool as well as a fitness and wellness centre, a dual indoor gymnasium, an indoor track and multiple multi-use program areas.

“We’re grateful to Westinghouse for this generous contribution to the Pryde Aquatic and Wellness Centre. As a local employer, their support demonstrates a strong commitment to Saugeen Shores and to the wellbeing of all those who call this community home,” said Mayor Luke Charbonneau, the Town of Saugeen Shores. “Partnerships like this help us build spaces that promote health and connection, strengthening the kind of vibrant, welcoming community where long-time residents want to stay and newcomers want to live.”

“Westinghouse has a long history of community involvement in the Tri-County region, where we have been supporting Bruce Power for decades and our highly skilled Port Elgin employees provide critical nuclear expertise to CANDU, light water reactor and AP1000® customers locally and around the globe,” said John Gorman, President of Westinghouse Canada. “This investment underscores our commitment to the communities where we are located to support and improve quality of life, resident wellbeing and community growth. We are proud to support the Pryde Aquatic and Wellness Centre that will serve families and residents for generations to come.”

Owned by Canadian energy powerhouses Brookfield and Cameco, Westinghouse is the only nuclear vendor with an advanced, proven and fully operational advanced Generation III+ reactor technology that is ready to be deployed in Canada and generate electricity by as early as 2035. A four-unit AP1000 facility in Ontario can power at least three million homes while supporting $28.7 billion in GDP during construction. The four-unit plant would also generate $8.1 billion in GDP and support 12,000 high-quality full-time Canadian jobs annually during its 60-plus year lifespan.
