Suppliers to Support Deployments of Advanced Reactor Fleet in Canada and Globally
Peterborough, Ontario, September 26, 2024 – Westinghouse Electric Company today announced the signing of memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with three significant Canadian suppliers to support nuclear new build projects in Canada and around the world. This milestone strengthens Westinghouse’s deep commitment to Canada’s economy and further develops the nation’s nuclear supply chain to support Westinghouse’s global fleet of advanced reactors.
Nuclear power generates nearly 50 percent of the electricity for Ontario, and the province is home to world-class universities and colleges, including the renowned faculty of engineering at the University of Waterloo.
Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, June 17, 2024 – Saskatchewan Power Corporation (SaskPower), Westinghouse Electric Company (Westinghouse) and Cameco Corporation (Cameco) (TSX: CCO; NYSE: CCJ) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to evaluate the potential of Westinghouse’s nuclear reactor technology and the associated nuclear fuel supply chain required for Saskatchewan’s future clean power needs.
