Peterborough, Ontario, March 19, 2025 – Westinghouse Electric Company and Shawflex have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to support nuclear new-build projects in Canada and globally. Under the agreement, Shawflex has the potential to provide cables, connectors and assemblies for key AP1000®, AP300™ and eVinci™ projects.

Peterborough, Ontario, March 6, 2025 – Westinghouse Electric Company today announced the signing of memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with six Canadian suppliers in Saskatchewan to support nuclear new build projects in Canada and around the world. These agreements are a direct result of Westinghouse’s Saskatchewan Supplier Symposium, which provided a forum for potential suppliers to learn about supporting Westinghouse’s new-build projects and technologies.

Peterborough, Ontario, December 12, 2024 – Westinghouse Electric Company and BWXT Canada, Ltd. announced today they have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to support nuclear new-build projects in Canada and globally. Under the agreement, BWXT Canada has the potential to manufacture key AP1000® and AP300™ reactor components, including steam generators, reactor vessels, pressure vessels, and heat exchangers.

Saskatchewan First Nation Natural Resource Center of Excellence Visits our eVinci™ Microreactor Technology Hub

The Westinghouse eVinci™ microreactor team recently hosted representatives from the Saskatchewan First Nation Natural Resource Center of Excellence (SFNNRCOE) at the eVinci Technology Hub in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

DSC01092.1SFNNRCOE supports the 74 First Nation communities in Saskatchewan to create opportunities for innovative, sustainable and environmentally responsible development of natural resources within their lands and Indigenous territories. The group visited our facility to learn more about the eVinci microreactor as a clean, reliable source of power for remote Indigenous communities in Saskatchewan as well as economic development and jobs.

The visitors, led by Sheldon Wuttunee, CEO of SFNNRCOE, were joined by Westinghouse Chief Commercial Officer Jacques Besnainou, who spoke about Westinghouse’s history and our AP1000® reactor, AP300™ SMR and eVinci technologies.

Minister Champagne Visits Burlington for Update on eVinci™ Investment

Canada Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry François-Philippe Champagne visited Westinghouse January 15 to receive an update on the progress our Canada eVinci™ microreactor team has made since receiving federal funding in March 2022.
