Written by Westinghouse Electric Company | July 18, 2016

Fifteen high school graduates were recognized recently during the 2016 Westinghouse Family Scholarship breakfast. A total of $72,000 was awarded to eligible, dependent children of Westinghouse employees.

For more than 30 years, Westinghouse has been providing scholarships to the sons and daughters of our U.S.-based employees. Since its inception, Westinghouse has awarded more than 450 scholarships totaling more than $2.1 million for students as they pursue higher education. The scholarships are awarded based on the winner’s leadership, scholastic aptitude and achievements including SAT scores, extra-curricular activities, work experience, scholastic and non-scholastic awards and written communication skills.

Winners from the Pittsburgh-region are shown above with Westinghouse senior executives Eric McAllister, senior vice president, Human Resources (center); José Emeterio Gutiérrez, Westinghouse interim president and CEO (right center); and, Jim Brennan, senior vice president, Engineering Center of Excellence (center left).
