What does nuclear fuel look like up close? Students and families had a chance to find out at the South Carolina Virtual Charter School's Back-to-School Bash!
Westinghouse employees recently joined the celebration in Columbia, SC, connecting with students and families from the K-12 public virtual charter school and sharing more about the important role nuclear energy plays in powering our communities.
Students got an up-close look at a replica nuclear fuel assembly, complete with fuel grids and pellets, while learning how our Columbia Fuel Fabrication Facility in Hopkins, SC manufactures the nuclear fuel that helps generate electricity for millions of Americans.
For Westinghouse, this was another opportunity to spark curiosity, introduce young people to STEM, and connect our employees with the communities we serve.
