# Westinghouse WIN Columbia

Westinghouse WIN-Columbia chapter members participated in a public outreach event to support Pi Day at EdVenture Children’s Museum at Columbia. The Pi Day is a kickoff  event to celebrate [STEM Education Month](https://www.scstemmonth.org/) (March 14-April 14). Edventure joins their partners from across the state, including those with the South Carolina Coalition for Mathematics and Science [(SCCMS)](https://www.sccoalition.org/) and the regional S2TEM Centers. A presentation on “The Power of Atoms” was given explaining how nuclear power is generated. We also led the group with the activities of building a 3D atom and electroscope demonstration. There are also activities by other groups throughout the day to inspire visitors while engaging them in presentations and information.
