Key Milestone Advances eVinci Microreactor Testing for Commercial Market

Cranberry Township, PA, September 16, 2024 – Westinghouse Electric Company announced it has submitted its eVinci™ Microreactor Preliminary Safety Design Report (PSDR) to the Department of Energy’s (DOE) National Reactor Innovation Center (NRIC). Westinghouse is the first reactor developer to reach this milestone in support of siting its test reactor at NRIC’s Demonstration of Microreactor Experiments (DOME) test bed at Idaho National Laboratory (INL).

Cranberry Township, Pa., August 1, 2024 – Westinghouse Electric Company announced today that Dan Lipman has been appointed president of its Energy Systems business unit. In this role, Mr. Lipman will be responsible to deploy the AP1000® pressurized water reactor and AP300™ small modular reactor, as well as advanced reactor development and other non-nuclear energy systems, including long-duration energy storage.
