Westinghouse Signs Early Works Agreement with Fortum for AP1000® Technology

Agreement Supports Large Reactor Deployment Following Two-Year Feasibility Study

Espoo, Finland, June 23, 2025 – Westinghouse Electric Company has signed an Early Works Agreement with Fortum Corporation (FORTUM.HE), a Nordic energy company, for the possible deployment of an advanced AP1000® reactor. The work will support Fortum in developing new nuclear as a long-term option to meet rising customer demand in the Nordics. Westinghouse has teamed with Hyundai Engineering & Construction Company (HDEC) for the EWA.

Memorandums of Understanding Support Deployments at Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant and Globally

Sofia, Bulgaria, May 15, 2025 – Westinghouse Electric Company today announced the signing of memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with seven Bulgarian suppliers to support the two-unit AP1000® project at the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant site. These agreements are a direct result of the second Westinghouse Bulgaria Supplier Symposium, which provided a forum for regional suppliers to learn more about supporting AP1000 projects globally.

Event Shared Opportunities for Suppliers to Participate in AP1000® Project at Kozloduy Site

Sofia, Bulgaria – May 1, 2025 – Westinghouse Electric Company welcomed more than 150 attendees from 60 companies and industry organizations to a Supplier Symposium in Sofia on April 29. The event provided a forum for regional suppliers to learn more about supporting the AP1000® project at the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant site in northern Bulgaria.

Polish Prime Minister, U.S. Energy Secretary and Project Partners Mark Launch of Next Project Phase

Warsaw, Poland – April 28, 2025 – The Westinghouse-Bechtel consortium and Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe (PEJ) announced the signing of an Engineering Development Agreement (EDA). The agreement marks the next step in advancing the three-unit AP1000® project in Choczewo, Pomeranian Voivodeship and was witnessed by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and US Energy Secretary Chris Wright.

Peterborough, Ontario, April 9, 2025 – Westinghouse Electric Company and Celeros Flow Technology (Celeros FT) announced today they have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to support nuclear new-build projects in Canada and globally. Under the agreement, Celeros FT has the potential to design and fabricate valves and pumps for key AP1000® and AP300™ projects.

Memorandum of Understanding Supports Deployment of AP1000® and AP300™ Technologies

Peterborough, Ontario, April 2, 2025 – Westinghouse Electric Company and Chemetics Inc. announced today they have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to support nuclear new-build projects in Canada and globally. Under the agreement, Chemetics has the potential to design and fabricate alloy or carbon steel vessels and heat exchangers for key AP1000® and AP300™ projects.

Peterborough, Ontario, March 19, 2025 – Westinghouse Electric Company and Shawflex have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to support nuclear new-build projects in Canada and globally. Under the agreement, Shawflex has the potential to provide cables, connectors and assemblies for key AP1000®, AP300™ and eVinci™ projects.

Feasibility Study to Evaluate Deployment of One Reactor at the Proposed Krško-II Nuclear Power Plant

Cranberry Township, PA, January 30, 2025 – Westinghouse Electric Company announced today the signing of a contract with Slovenia’s state-owned power company GEN energija to conduct a Technical Feasibility Study (TFS) assessing the deployment of an AP1000® reactor in support of its nuclear new-build strategy. Westinghouse has teamed with Hyundai Engineering & Construction Company to conduct the TFS.

Funding Interest Signals Canada’s Nuclear Supply Chain is Ready to Work for Global New Build Projects

Peterborough, Ontario, December 9, 2024 – Westinghouse Electric Company welcomes the Letter of Interest (LOI) for up to U.S. $1.45 billion ($2.02 billion CAD) in potential financing from Export Development Canada (EDC) to support the sale of goods and services by Canadian suppliers to build Poland’s AP1000 project, its first nuclear power plant. Westinghouse will help facilitate the potential financing for Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ), the state-owned company that is responsible for developing the plant at the Lubiatowo-Kopalino site in Pomerania.
