The award supports the Joint Emergent Technology Supplying On-Orbit Nuclear power (JETSON) High Power program.
ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates – Dec. 5, 2023 – Westinghouse Electric Company today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) to explore deployment of the eVinci™ microreactor in the UAE. The MoU signing took place at COP28 in Dubai in recognition of the role nuclear energy will play to accelerate global decarbonization.
CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Nov. 27, 2023 – Westinghouse Electric Company today congratulated Saskatchewan Research Council on its funding to operate the first-ever eVinci™ microreactor in Canada. Westinghouse and SRC signed an MOU last year to jointly develop a project to locate an eVinci microreactor in Saskatchewan to further explore industrial, research and energy use applications.
CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Oct. 24, 2023 – Westinghouse Electric Company today announced the launch of a new design and manufacturing facility near downtown Pittsburgh to accelerate commercialization of the eVinci™ microreactor. In June, Westinghouse established eVinci™ Technologies LLC as a separate business unit within the company to streamline all aspects of bringing the microreactor to the market.
Cranberry Township, PA – Oct. 23, 2023 – Westinghouse Electric Company today announced its selection by the Department of Energy for a Front-End Engineering and Experiment Design contract to support commercialization of its eVinci™ microreactor. The DOE funding supports planning for the deployment of the eVinci Nuclear Test Reactor at Idaho National Lab.
