Kowalik will lead Westinghouse’s expanding presence in Poland.
Warsaw – Westinghouse Electric Company has announced the appointment of Miroslaw Kowalik as President, Westinghouse Poland, effective May 24. In this role, Miroslaw will lead the company’s plans to invest in nuclear technologies in Poland.
“We are pleased that Miroslaw is joining our team,” said David Durham, Westinghouse President, Energy Systems. “His deep experience and knowledge of the Polish energy market will contribute substantially to enable Westinghouse to successfully provide the world’s leading and safest AP1000 technology to Poland’s nuclear power program that will play a leading role towards Poland’s carbon free future.”
Miroslaw most recently served as President of Enea, one of the largest energy companies in Poland. He brings more than 20 years of experience in the energy sector, with expertise in business leadership, strategy, new project acquisitions and business development gained while in senior leadership positions at companies including SNC Lavalin, Alstom and ABB.
Miroslaw is a graduate of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Gynia Maritime University and received his MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management in cooperation with the University of Gdańsk and the Gdańsk Foundation for Management Development. He also completed post-graduate studies in corporate finance management at the Warsaw School of Economics.
Kowalik will be based in Westinghouse’s Warsaw office and will also serve as president of Westinghouse Electric Poland sp. z o.o., overseeing various Westinghouse activities in Poland in addition to Westinghouse’s nuclear new build efforts.
