Westinghouse Announces Nuclear Fuel Leadership Transitions

PITTSBURGH, August 22, 2016 – Today Westinghouse Electric Company announced a series of executive leadership transitions in its Nuclear Fuel and Components Manufacturing organization. These transitions begin today, with Michele DeWitt becoming interim senior vice president of the organization, which includes the Columbia Fuel Fabrication Facility (CFFF) in Columbia, S.C.

Mike Annacone remains the lead of recovery efforts for CFFF’s S-1030 scrubber issue, and will report to DeWitt. Annacone is fully committed to the safe and successful restart and recovery of the conversion area of the site. Following restart, Annacone will be appointed site vice president of the Columbia Fuel Fabrication Facility and retain the reporting relationship to DeWitt.

DeWitt joined Westinghouse in 1978 and has worked within a variety of functions, including engineering, marketing, project management as well as quality and strategic operations. Currently she is vice president, Global Commercial and Marketing. DeWitt has held a series of leadership positions within the Nuclear Fuel organization. During her time in Nuclear Fuel she was responsible for product strategy and marketing, strategic growth initiatives and expansion of the Fuel products portfolio. Prior to that, DeWitt had operational management leadership experience as vice president, U.S. Fuel Operations, which included responsibility for fuel fabrication and components manufacturing.

Annacone joined Westinghouse’s quality organization as part of the 2016 CB&I Stone and Webster acquisition. His lengthy history in the nuclear industry includes work at Crystal River Unit 3 Nuclear Plant, where he supported recovery from a design basis outage and confirmatory order. He also led Brunswick Nuclear Plant’s recovery efforts and was ultimately site vice president. Annacone worked at Duke Energy where he led a training probation recovery effort and then went on to work at CB&I Stone and Webster as lead in the implementation of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission confirmatory order received there.

During the restart and recovery period, Interim Site Vice President Bruce Phillips will continue to maintain his role.
