Amelia Island, Fla. – August 9, 2017 – In a speech delivered to the American Nuclear Society Utility Working Conference and Vendor Technology Expo on Monday, Westinghouse Electric Company President, Americas Region and Chief Growth Officer David Howell, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to Delivering the Nuclear Promise.

A multiyear strategic plan commissioned by the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI), Delivering the Nuclear Promise seeks to transform the nuclear industry and ensure its viability for consumers as well as its essential role in protecting the environment.

“At Westinghouse, we have been working with our customers to deliver innovative solutions to their operational challenges for decades,” said David Howell. “We understand the economic pressures that our customers face and believe in working together as partners to enhance plant performance and contain operating costs.”

One example of Delivering the Nuclear Promise from Westinghouse’s spring outage season was the deployment of the Zephyr® Advanced Acquisition System at Arizona Public Service Company’s Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station in Wintersburg, Arizona. In an industry-first, the Zephyr System successfully examined 100 percent of the tubes in a steam generator from a single plenum, using revolutionary probe delivery to more rapidly perform high-quality eddy current examinations, and ensuring safe, economic and efficient operation.
