Westinghouse Announces New President of Westinghouse Government Services

Cranberry Township, PA, December 13, 2021 – Westinghouse Electric Company announced that Paul Longsworth has been appointed president of Westinghouse Government Services (WGS). Longsworth joined WGS in June 2021, bringing more than 35 years of experience in nuclear energy, national security and environmental industries. Previously, he served as Vice President, Secure Services at Flour, and was the Deputy Administrator for Defense Nuclear Nonproliferation at the U.S. Department of Energy. He takes over the business following the retirement of Bob Cochran.

Cranberry Township, PA, October 21, 2021 – Westinghouse Electric Company has signed an instrumentation and control (I&C) modernization contract with Exelon Generation for its boiling water reactor (BWR) units at the Limerick Generating Station. The implementation of the contract will mark the first fully digitalized safety system in a U.S. BWR plant.

Together, they discussed the significant opportunity to build AP1000 plants and how that will positively impact the community, economy and development of a supply chain.

Information sessions and one-on-one meetings provided in-depth opportunities for local suppliers to learn more about the Westinghouse AP1000® Plant equipment and services, sourcing requirements, and supply chain opportunities in support of Poland’s Nuclear Power Program. Company leaders were joined by Andrzej Sidło, chief expert in the Nuclear Energy Department, Ministry of Climate and Environment for the Republic of Poland.
