Under the agreement, BWXT Canada has the potential to manufacture key AP1000® and AP300™ reactor components, including steam generators, reactor vessels, pressure vessels, and heat exchangers.

Westinghouse will help facilitate the potential financing for Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ), the state-owned company that is responsible for developing the plant at the Lubiatowo-Kopalino site in Pomerania.

The groundbreaking approvals make the eVinci microreactor the first and only microreactor with an NRC-approved I&C system, opening a path to autonomous operation.

Sofia, Bulgaria, November 4, 2024 – Westinghouse Electric Company, Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co. and Bulgaria’s Kozloduy NPP - New Build EAD today signed the Engineering Services Contract for two AP1000® reactors to be built at the Kozloduy site. Bulgarian Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev, Bulgarian Minister of Energy Vladimir Malinov, U.S. Ambassador to Bulgaria Kenneth Merten, Executive Director of Kozloduy NPP - New Build Petyo Ivanov, Senior Vice President of Westinghouse Energy Systems Elias Gedeon, and Hyundai Engineering & Construction President and CEO Yoon Young-Joon attended the signing ceremony in Sofia.
