Cranberry Township, PA, December 4, 2024 – Westinghouse Electric Company announced today that the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) approved the state-of-the-art eVinci™ Advanced Logic System® (ALS) Version 2 (v2) instrumentation and control (I&C) platform through a Final Safety Evaluation Report on two topical reports. The groundbreaking approvals make the eVinci microreactor the first and only microreactor with an NRC-approved I&C system, opening a path to autonomous operation.

The day-long event provided a forum for potential suppliers to learn about supporting Westinghouse’s new-build projects in Canada and globally.

Westinghouse Signs Contract for Engineering of AP1000® Reactors in Bulgaria

Engineering Services Contract Begins the Licensing, Permitting, Project Management and Site Planning Process 

Sofia, Bulgaria, November 4, 2024 – Westinghouse Electric Company, Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co. and Bulgaria’s Kozloduy NPP - New Build EAD today signed the Engineering Services Contract for two AP1000® reactors to be built at the Kozloduy site. Bulgarian Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev, Bulgarian Minister of Energy Vladimir Malinov, U.S. Ambassador to Bulgaria Kenneth Merten, Executive Director of Kozloduy NPP - New Build Petyo Ivanov, Senior Vice President of Westinghouse Energy Systems Elias Gedeon, and Hyundai Engineering & Construction President and CEO Yoon Young-Joon attended the signing ceremony in Sofia.

Westinghouse Extends Key Contract to Build AP1000® Reactors in Bulgaria

Sofia, Bulgaria, October 23, 2024 – Westinghouse Electric Company today announced it signed an extension to the current Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED) contract with Bulgaria’s Kozloduy NPP-Newbuild for two AP1000® reactors. This extension builds on the progress being made on the Kozloduy expansion project, as well as the support Westinghouse is providing for nuclear fuel diversification and operations at Kozloduy.

Westinghouse and Seaspan Sign MoU for AP1000® and AP300™ Projects

Agreement Supports Deployment of Advanced Reactors in Canada and Globally

Peterborough, Ontario, October 10, 2024 — Westinghouse Electric Company and Seaspan ULC announced today that they have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to support nuclear new-build projects in Canada and around the world. Under the agreement, Seaspan has the potential to manufacture key AP1000® and AP300™ reactor components, including pipe spools and steel structures.

Westinghouse Selected by U.S. Department of Energy for HALEU Contract

Oct. 8, 2024 — Westinghouse Government Services LLC has been selected by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Nuclear Energy for an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract to provide deconversion services for the production of enriched High-Assay Low-Enriched Uranium (HALEU) from new domestic capacity. The scope of work for a 10-year period is in support of the mission of the Office of Nuclear Energy in coordination with the Idaho Operations Office.
