New U.S. Ambassador Welcomes Potential Suppliers for AP1000® Advanced Reactor Build

Cranberry Township, PA – Feb. 28, 2023 – Newly appointed U.S. Ambassador to the Czech Republic Bijan Sabet welcomed representatives from 55 Czech Republic companies to Supplier Day 2023, an event organized in part by Westinghouse Electric Company and Bechtel. The two companies submitted a bid in November to support the Czech Republic’s planned expansion of its nuclear power fleet with the AP1000® reactor, the world’s most advanced, proven nuclear reactor in operation globally.

Key Agreement is Critical Step in Implementation of AP1000® Reactor Project

Cranberry Township, PA – Feb. 22, 2023 – Westinghouse Electric Company and state-owned Polish utility Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe (PEJ) today signed a contract to advance Poland’s new nuclear energy program. The agreement moves the country one step closer to deploying multiple AP1000® reactors, the most advanced Generation III+ nuclear reactor available today. 

Westinghouse and Kozloduy Sign Long-Term Partnership for Nuclear Fuel

Sofia, Bulgaria – Dec. 22, 2022 – Westinghouse Electric Company and Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant (KNPP) have signed a 10-year contract to fabricate and deliver VVER-1000 nuclear fuel for Unit 5. This new agreement guarantees reliable supply of the only fully Western option for VVER nuclear fuel fabrication.

Signing Cements Principles of Cooperation and Contracts

Warsaw, Poland, December 15, 2022 – Westinghouse Electric Company and Polish utility Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe today signed an agreement defining the main principles and path forward for the first Polish nuclear reactors. Last month, the Polish government selected the proven Westinghouse AP1000® reactor for its first-ever nuclear energy program.
