SPRINGFIELDS, U.K., 23 March 2016 – On 28 March, the Westinghouse nuclear licenced site at Springfields celebrates 70 years of safely manufacturing nuclear fuel.

On that date in 1946 the Government announced that the former war-time munitions factory would be the birthplace of the UK’s civil nuclear power programme. As the first plant in the world to produce fuel for a commercial nuclear power station, the site has produced over 12 million fuel elements and supplied products and services to customers in 11 countries.

PITTSBURGH, March 16, 2016 – Westinghouse Electric Company has been selected by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) to provide steam generator inspection and maintenance services for the Westinghouse-designed pressurized water reactors at Watts Bar Units 1 and 2 and Sequoyah Units 1 and 2. The contract covers the period 2016 through 2021.

Beijing, March 3, 2016 - Westinghouse Electric Company LLC announced today that all four reactor coolant pumps (RCPs) at Sanmen Unit 1 have been installed ahead of the current milestone schedule. Sanmen 1 is one of two AP1000® nuclear power plants under construction at the Sanmen Nuclear Power Plant in Zhejiang Province, China.
