Bruce Power and Westinghouse Collaborate to Advance Application of eVinci Battery Technology to Support Canada's Net Zero Initiative

October 9, 2020 – Bruce Power and Westinghouse Electric Company today announced an agreement to pursue applications of Westinghouse’s leading eVinci™ micro reactor program within Canada, to provide a reliable source of carbon-free energy. The agreement supports efforts by the federal and provincial governments to study applications for nuclear technology to reach their goal of a Net Zero Canada by 2050.

Westinghouse Signs Engineering Contract to Extend the Life of Angra 1

Cranberry Township, PA, October 5, 2020 –Westinghouse Electric Company has just signed a contract with Eletronuclear to conduct engineering analyses critical to the safety, reliability and long-term life of the Angra 1 nuclear power plant. This contract supports Eletronuclear’s Long Term Operations (LTO) program designed to enable continued operations at Angra Unit 1 through the end of 2044. The current operating license is valid through December 2024.

Westinghouse-Energoatom Contract Signals Full Diversification for Ukraine’s Nuclear Fuel Supply

Kyiv, Ukraine, September 30, 2020 – Today, Westinghouse Electric Company signed a contract with the National Nuclear Energy Generating Company (NNEGC Energoatom) on VVER-440 nuclear fuel for the Rivne nuclear power plant. This agreement illustrates another successful step in the continuation of the long-standing partnership between Energoatom and Westinghouse.

Westinghouse and ENUSA Continue Expansion of Encore Fuel Program With First Insertion at European Utility

Orsay, France, September 8, 2020 – Westinghouse Electric Company and ENUSA Industrias Avanzadas (ENUSA) announced today the installation of EnCore Fuel at Engie Electrabel’s Doel Unit 4 nuclear power plant in Belgium. This installation marks the first insertion of EnCore Fuel rod assemblies in Europe, and the second insertion into a commercial nuclear power plant worldwide.

Westinghouse Program Awarded £10m From UK Government Advanced Modular Reactor Project

Springfields, Lancashire, July 10, 2020 – Westinghouse Electric Company today announced their Lead-cooled Fast Reactor (LFR) program has successfully progressed to Phase 2 of the UK Government’s Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy’s (BEIS) Advanced Modular Reactor (AMR) Feasibility and Development project, receiving £10m ($12.5m) in funding from the BEIS Energy Innovation Portfolio. The funding will help to advance nuclear technology through innovation in order to deliver reliable, clean energy for future generations.
