Four Additional Westinghouse AP1000® Reactors to be Built in China

Westinghouse Signs Additional Strategic Partnerships with Czech Firms to Build AP1000® Reactors at Dukovany Nuclear Site

Prague, Czech Republic, April 11, 2022 – Westinghouse Electric Company signed memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with nine companies in the Czech Republic. The MOUs signed cover cooperation on the potential deployment of an AP1000® plant for the Dukovany 5 project as well as other potential AP1000 projects in Central Europe. These MOUs add to the seven agreements signed with local companies in the Czech Republic in January 2022.

Cranberry Township, PA, March 15, 2021 – Westinghouse Electric Company has announced intentions to invest in nuclear technologies in Poland, following a meeting between Westinghouse Chief Executive Officer Patrick Fragman and Poland’s Secretary of State in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister and Plenipotentiary for Strategic Energy Infrastructure Piotr Naimski in Warsaw. The meeting came as a result of a finalized Inter-Governmental Agreement between Poland and the United States on cooperation for the implementation of the nuclear energy program, which includes a plan to transfer technology from the United States to the Polish Nuclear Power Program and develop a comprehensive investment scheme with participation of U.S. entities.

Westinghouse AP1000® Nuclear Plant Breaks a First Refueling Outage Record

Beijing, March 11, 2021 – Westinghouse Electric Company today announced that Sanmen Unit 2, one of the world’s first AP1000® nuclear power plants, has set a new refueling outage record in the global nuclear power industry, completing its initial outage in 28.14 days.
