At Westinghouse, we empower the next generation to think outside of the box and solve tough challenges in creative ways. That is why we are proud to sponsor the annual Chain Reaction Contraption Competition (CRCC). It is a spirited, STEM-based competition for high school students in which they are challenged to achieve a simple task in 20 steps or more using general laws of physics and mechanical principles – with each triggering the initiation of the next action and eventually resulting in achievement of the final goal.

Spring Soiree in celebration of World Wildlife Day

The South Carolina Wildlife Federation held its Spring Soiree in celebration of World Wildlife Day. Westinghouse was a proud sponsor of the event, along with other local corporations. The SC Wildlife Federation supports wildlife conservation, advocacy, restoration, and education programs.

Lake Marion Technology Center in their Innovation for the Next Generation Event

The Westinghouse Columbia Fuel Fabrication Facility's (CFFF) division of Women In Nuclear (WIN) supported the Lake Marion Technology Center in their Innovation for the Next Generation Event. They shared valuable information with students about college, careers, and business opportunities. During the event, the Columbia site WIN representatives greeted a total of 746 students!

Proud Sponsor of IMARA Foundation’s Annual Scholarship Luncheon

The Columbia Site was a proud sponsor of the IMARA Foundation’s Annual Scholarship luncheon. Rita Kelly was the recipient of the Westinghouse sponsored scholarship, and is a sophomore at South Carolina State University, where she is majoring in civil engineering.
