Westinghouse Positioned to Help Poland Realize PEP2040 Energy Goals

Cranberry Township, PA, March 15, 2021 – Westinghouse Electric Company has announced intentions to invest in nuclear technologies in Poland, following a meeting between Westinghouse Chief Executive Officer Patrick Fragman and Poland’s Secretary of State in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister and Plenipotentiary for Strategic Energy Infrastructure Piotr Naimski in Warsaw. The meeting came as a result of a finalized Inter-Governmental Agreement between Poland and the United States on cooperation for the implementation of the nuclear energy program, which includes a plan to transfer technology from the United States to the Polish Nuclear Power Program and develop a comprehensive investment scheme with participation of U.S. entities.

Westinghouse Wins Environmental Contract with Vattenfall to Dismantle Ågesta Nuclear Plant

Cranberry Township, PA, December 17, 2020 – Westinghouse Electric Company has signed a contract with Swedish utility Vattenfall to segment the nuclear reactor at its Ågesta Nuclear Plant near Stockholm, Sweden. Under the terms of the contract, Westinghouse will plan, design and manufacture the tools for segmentation; as well as perform the site work. This includes the underwater mechanical cutting of the reactor vessel and its internal components and packing the pieces in containers for Vattenfall to remove from site.

Westinghouse Signs Instrumentation and Control Modernization Contract

Westinghouse to deliver first-of-its-kind technology upgrades, enhancing plant safety and reliability

Cranberry Township, PA, December 2, 2020 – Westinghouse Electric Company announced that it has signed an instrumentation and control (I&C) modernization contract with Southern Nuclear Operating Company for new Digital Rod Position Indication (DRPI) Advanced Display Systems (DADS). The first-of-their-kind U.S. installations will be implemented at both the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant and the Alvin W. Vogtle Electric Generating Plant, with work scheduled to begin at Farley’s first unit in spring 2021.
