Westinghouse Signs Strategic Partnerships in Poland to Build Country's First AP1000® Nuclear Plant

Warsaw, Poland (January 21, 2022) - Westinghouse Electric Company signed memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with ten companies in Poland. The MOUs, signed in both Gdańsk and the Westinghouse office in Warsaw, cover cooperation on the potential deployment of six AP1000® plants for the Polish Nuclear Power Plant program and other potential AP1000® reactor projects in Central and Eastern Europe.

Prague, Czech Republic, January 13, 2022 – Westinghouse Electric Company signed memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with seven companies in the Czech Republic. The MOUs signed at the Ministry of Industry and Trade cover cooperation on the potential deployment of an AP1000® plant for the Dukovany 5 project as well as other potential AP1000 projects in Central Europe.

Westinghouse Successfully Dismantles Reactor Vessels in Slovakia

Cranberry Township, PA, December 15, 2021 – Westinghouse Electric Company announced it has recently completed dismantling the first of two reactor vessels at Bohunice V1 Nuclear Power Plant in Slovakia. The annular water tanks that ensured bio-shield protection of the two reactor pressure vessels have also been dismantled.

Westinghouse Brings the eVinci™ Micro Reactor Closer to Commercialization

Cranberry Township, PA, December 14, 2021 – Westinghouse Electric Company announced that it has filed a pre-application Regulatory Engagement Plan for the company’s eVinci™ micro reactor, detailing the planned pre-licensing application interactions with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). The plan is aligned with NRC’s whitepaper on micro reactor licensing.
