Cranberry Township, PA, October 5, 2020 –Westinghouse Electric Company has just signed a contract with Eletronuclear to conduct engineering analyses critical to the safety, reliability and long-term life of the Angra 1 nuclear power plant. This contract supports Eletronuclear’s Long Term Operations (LTO) program designed to enable continued operations at Angra Unit 1 through the end of 2044. The current operating license is valid through December 2024.
Kyiv, Ukraine, September 30, 2020 – Today, Westinghouse Electric Company signed a contract with the National Nuclear Energy Generating Company (NNEGC Energoatom) on VVER-440 nuclear fuel for the Rivne nuclear power plant. Orsay, France, September 8, 2020 – Westinghouse Electric Company and ENUSA Industrias Avanzadas (ENUSA) announced today the installation of EnCore Fuel at Engie Electrabel’s Doel Unit 4 nuclear power plant in Belgium. This installation marks the first insertion of EnCore Fuel rod assemblies in Europe, and the second insertion into a commercial nuclear power plant worldwide.
