Companies Mark European First to Produce Cobalt-60 Radioisotope in EDF Reactors
Paris, December 1, 2021 – At the World Nuclear Exhibition today, Westinghouse Electric Company and EDF signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to produce Cobalt-60 radioisotope in select Pressurized Water Reactors (PWR) owned and operated by EDF in France.
Cranberry Township, PA, November 22, 2021 –Westinghouse Electric Company and Energoatom, the state-owned nuclear utility of Ukraine, signed a contract in Kyiv, Ukraine, today outlining the details of their agreement to bring Westinghouse AP1000® reactors to Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant.

Cranberry Township, PA, October 21, 2021 – Westinghouse Electric Company has signed an instrumentation and control (I&C) modernization contract with Exelon Generation for its boiling water reactor (BWR) units at the Limerick Generating Station. The implementation of the contract will mark the first fully digitalized safety system in a U.S. BWR plant.
Prague, Czech Republic, October 13, 2021 – A milestone event in Prague drew nearly 200 Czech business leaders together for a two- day Supplier Symposium held by Westinghouse Electric Company and Bechtel Power Corp. Company leaders were joined by Tomáš Ehler, Deputy Minister for the Nuclear Energy Section, Vladimír Dlouhý, President of Czech Chamber of Commerce, Jennifer Bachus, Chargé d’Affairs of the US Embassy in Prague and Petr Závodský, CEO of NPP Dukovany II. Together, they discussed the significant opportunity to build AP1000 plants and how that will positively impact the community, economy and development of a supply chain.
