Westinghouse Columbia Fuel Fabrication Facility Receives Us NRC Restart Authorization

PITTSBURGH, Oct. 20, 2016 – Westinghouse Electric Company announced that it received authorization today from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission to restart the Conversion Area operations of the Columbia Fuel Fabrication Facility (Columbia, South Carolina) after the area was shut down in July due to safety concerns over a ventilation scrubber.

(NLI), the largest third-party supplier of safety-related equipment solutions to the nuclear industry. Westinghouse and NAEK Energoatom Release Joint Statement Regarding Safety Optimization Program and Enhancement of Safety for Ukraine’s Nuclear Fleet

KIEV, September 30, 2016 – Today, Westinghouse Electric Company and NAEK Energoatom, the National Nuclear Energy Generating Company of Ukraine, released a joint statement discussing the companies’ future partnership to sustain the safety of Ukraine’s nuclear reactor fleet. Westinghouse Columbia Fuel Facility Continues Path Forward on Confirmatory Action Letter

Jenkinsville, S.C., August 31, 2016 – Westinghouse Electric Company’s successful placement of the reactor vessel into the nuclear island of the AP1000 Unit 2 at the V.C. Summer site on Aug. 30 marks a major shift in the project from solely structural work to assembly of the unit’s reactor system itself, including pumps, piping and cabling.
