Westinghouse to Supply OKG With Nuclear Fuel Until 2030

Feb. 27, 2017 – Westinghouse Electric Company today announced that it has signed a nuclear fuel contract with OKG (Uniper), a major supplier of base load to the Nordic power supply system. Provided the plant is in operation and under the terms of the contract, Westinghouse will continue to provide reload fuel assemblies for the remaining Oskarshamn 3 unit until 2030. This contract continues the important relationship between OKG and Westinghouse’s Västerås Fuel Fabrication Facility in Västerås, Sweden.

Westinghouse and AZZ Inc. Transition to Teaming Agreement

Jan. 20, 2017 – Westinghouse Electric Company LLC announced today that it has transitioned its previously announced acquisition of Nuclear Logistics LLC. (NL), a third-party supplier of safety-related equipment solutions to the nuclear industry owned by AZZ Inc., to a teaming agreement. Under the agreement, Westinghouse and AZZ Inc. will jointly market their safety-related equipment solutions to the nuclear industry.

Westinghouse Sets First Steam Generator at V.C. Summer Unit 2

Jenkinsville, S.C., Jan. 12, 2017 – Westinghouse Electric Company today announced the completion of a key delivery milestone at the V.C. Summer AP1000® plant site, with placement of the first steam generator for Unit 2. The steam generator, including the integral reactor coolant pump casings, weighs more than 600 metric tons and is approximately 24 meters long and six meters in diameter. It was set in the Unit 2 nuclear island on Jan. 10.

Westinghouse Places Second Containment Vessel Ring for Lead Vogtle AP1000® Unit

Waynesboro, Ga., Dec. 13, 2016 – Westinghouse Electric Company today announced the successful placement of the second containment vessel ring at Vogtle Unit 3, the lead AP1000 nuclear power plant unit under construction at the Vogtle site. The ring is the third of five sections that constitute the AP1000 plant containment vessel, a high-integrity steel structure that houses the reactor vessel and other critical plant systems.

Westinghouse and SCANA Corp. Receive DRB Milestone Determination

PITTSBURGH, Dec. 5, 2016 – Westinghouse Electric Company and South Carolina Electric & Gas Company (SCE&G), the principal subsidiary of SCANA Corporation (NYSE: SCG), have received the Dispute Resolution Board’s (DRB) decision on the construction milestone payment schedule for the two nuclear construction projects at V.C. Summer Station in Jenkinsville, S.C.

Westinghouse to Resolve CB&I Purchase Agreement as Planned

PITTSBURGH, Dec. 2, 2016 – Today the Delaware Chancery Court found in favor of Westinghouse Electric Company and dismissed the filing by Chicago Bridge & Iron Company N.V. (CB&I) with respect to the post-closing reconciliation process. As a result of the decision, the parties will now proceed in accordance with the Parties Purchase Agreement and to an independent third-party auditor.

Westinghouse Achieves Major Milestones at Vogtle AP1000® Plant

Waynesboro, Ga., Nov. 30, 2016 – Westinghouse Electric Company today announced the completion of two construction milestones at the Vogtle nuclear power plant site: placement of the Unit 3 reactor vessel and the Unit 4 CA01 module. The milestones – achieved within a 48-hour span – open up new work fronts at the Vogtle site, where Westinghouse is delivering two of its AP1000® units.

Westinghouse’s Spirit of Innovation Recognized at Patent Award Lunch

PITTSBURGH, Oct. 31, 2016 – Today in 1865, George Westinghouse received his first patent for the rotary steam engine, beginning a tradition for innovation, growth and success at Westinghouse Electric Company. Recently, 129 U.S.-based employees were recognized for their participation in the U.S. patent process during the past year. This included the issuing of 32 U.S. patents, 42 applications for U.S. patents and 51 inventors who submitted disclosures in FY 2015.
