Pittsburgh, Pa., September 29, 2016 – Westinghouse Electric Company today said that the selection of its project team for a major U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) environmental management contract will leverage the company’s strong nuclear energy technologies and site management capabilities, while also signaling its intent to re-enter the government services marketplace.
PITTSBURGH, Sept. 29, 2016 – Westinghouse Electric Company recently provided the community of Columbia, South Carolina (USA) information related the completion of activities outlined in the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s (NRC) confirmatory action letter (CAL) issued on August 11, 2016. The information was provided during a public meeting hosted by the NRC on Sept. 27.
At the public meeting, the following information was provided to the community by Westinghouse executive leadership:
Jenkinsville, S.C., August 31, 2016 – Westinghouse Electric Company’s successful placement of the reactor vessel into the nuclear island of the AP1000 Unit 2 at the V.C. Summer site on Aug. 30 marks a major shift in the project from solely structural work to assembly of the unit’s reactor system itself, including pumps, piping and cabling.
PITTSBURGH, August 22, 2016 – Today Westinghouse Electric Company announced a series of executive leadership transitions in its Nuclear Fuel and Components Manufacturing organization. These transitions begin today, with Michele DeWitt becoming interim senior vice president of the organization, which includes the Columbia Fuel Fabrication Facility (CFFF) in Columbia, S.C.

Jenkinsville, S.C., August 9, 2016 – This week Westinghouse Electric Company completed the placement of two modules that are part of the innovative safety systems of the AP1000® Unit 2 currently under construction at the V.C. Summer Nuclear Station.
PITTSBURGH, July 28, 2016 – Westinghouse interim president and CEO José Emeterio Gutiérrez issued the following statement in response to comments made by Chicago Bridge & Iron Company N.V. (CB&I) on July 27, 2016. The statement references the ongoing legal proceeding between the two parties.
PITTSBURGH, July 24, 2016 – In October, 2015, Westinghouse entered into a Purchase Agreement with Chicago Bridge & Iron Company N.V. (CB&I) for the acquisition of CB&I Stone & Webster Inc., CB&I’s nuclear construction and integrated services businesses by Westinghouse. On July 21, 2016, CB&I initiated a legal proceeding against Westinghouse in Delaware Chancery Court with respect to the post-closing reconciliation process.
Fifteen high school graduates were recognized recently during the 2016 Westinghouse Family Scholarship breakfast. A total of $72,000 was awarded to eligible, dependent children of Westinghouse employees.
SPRINGFIELDS, U.K., July 14, 2016 - Westinghouse Springfields site located in Preston has been awarded the prestigious Order of Distinction Award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA). This is the 16th consecutive year that the company’s enhanced safety culture and safety improvements have been recognised by RoSPA.
