It’s an exciting time for the Canadian nuclear industry, as it is busily preparing for the next generation of its nuclear fleet. That was the theme of this year’s annual Canadian Nuclear Association conference: “Building for Tomorrow Today.” More than 30 Westinghouse leaders and experts were on hand in Ottawa last week at CNA2025 to demonstrate how we’re ready now to help Canada turn its ambitions for large and small nuclear into reality.

A delegation of Pennsylvania state lawmakers visited our eVinci® microreactor accelerator hub in Etna, Pennsylvania, last week to learn more about our technology, including the advanced AP1000® GEN III+ reactor, AP300™ small modular reactor (SMR) and eVinci microreactor.

Columbia Helps Stomp No More to "Stomp Out Crime"

Westinghouse served as a top corporate sponsor for Stomp No More’s “Stomp Out Crime” community day. This non-profit organization marks 4 years of community outreach, service, and crime prevention with a day celebrating healing, hope, and support for community members. Stomp No More is dedicated to connecting the community with law enforcement, local organizations, and neighbors in hopes of building safer and stronger communities, and CFFF was honored to be a part of this initiative.

Columbia Facility Partners with Hopkins Middle School in AVID College Prep

Westinghouse is partnering with Hopkins Middle School to educate students in the AVID program. AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination and is a rigorous college prep program designed for students who excel in reading and math. Engineers from Westinghouse educated students on 3D printing, operating a flight simulator, and discussing future plans on careers in science and technology.

Decades-Long Involvement at Jaslovské Bohunice Underscores Commitment to Country

Westinghouse's strong presence in Slovakia goes back nearly a decade and has included contracts for decommissioning of the Jaslovské Bohunice nuclear power plant (NPP) and supplying nuclear fuel to Slovak power plants. We continue to strengthen our involvement in the country with a possible AP1000® project at Jaslovské Bohunice.
