Westinghouse Extends Key Contract to Build AP1000® Reactors in Bulgaria

Extension of Front-End Engineering and Design Contract Underscores Progress of Kozloduy Project 

Sofia, Bulgaria, October 23, 2024 – Westinghouse Electric Company today announced it signed an extension to the current Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED) contract with Bulgaria’s Kozloduy NPP-Newbuild for two AP1000® reactors. This extension builds on the progress being made on the Kozloduy expansion project, as well as the support Westinghouse is providing for nuclear fuel diversification and operations at Kozloduy.

Westinghouse and Seaspan Sign MoU for AP1000® and AP300™ Projects

Agreement Supports Deployment of Advanced Reactors in Canada and Globally

Peterborough, Ontario, October 10, 2024 — Westinghouse Electric Company and Seaspan ULC announced today that they have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to support nuclear new-build projects in Canada and around the world. Under the agreement, Seaspan has the potential to manufacture key AP1000® and AP300™ reactor components, including pipe spools and steel structures.

Westinghouse Selected by U.S. Department of Energy for HALEU Contract

Oct. 8, 2024 — Westinghouse Government Services LLC has been selected by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Nuclear Energy for an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract to provide deconversion services for the production of enriched High-Assay Low-Enriched Uranium (HALEU) from new domestic capacity. The scope of work for a 10-year period is in support of the mission of the Office of Nuclear Energy in coordination with the Idaho Operations Office.
