Cranberry Township, Pa., March 29, 2017 – Westinghouse Electric Company, LLC, a U.S. company, and certain of its subsidiaries and affiliates, today filed voluntary petitions under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. The Company is seeking to undertake a strategic restructuring as a result of certain financial and construction challenges in its U.S. AP1000® power plant projects. Westinghouse has obtained $800 million in debtor-in-possession (DIP) financing from a third-party lender to help fund and protect its core businesses during its reorganization. The Chapter 11 filings took place in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York in New York City.
March 17, 2017 – Westinghouse Electric Company today announced a series of executive appointments designed to further align the organization with its operational transformation and provide enhanced customer delivery. Mark Marano has been appointed chief operating officer, with David Howell succeeding Marano as president, Americas Region. Luc Van Hulle will serve as interim president of the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Region. Additionally, David Durham has been named senior vice president of New Projects Business (NPB). Each change is effective as of March 15.
Feb. 27, 2017 – Westinghouse Electric Company today announced that it has signed a nuclear fuel contract with OKG (Uniper), a major supplier of base load to the Nordic power supply system. Provided the plant is in operation and under the terms of the contract, Westinghouse will continue to provide reload fuel assemblies for the remaining Oskarshamn 3 unit until 2030. This contract continues the important relationship between OKG and Westinghouse’s Västerås Fuel Fabrication Facility in Västerås, Sweden.

Jan. 20, 2017 – Westinghouse Electric Company LLC announced today that it has transitioned its previously announced acquisition of Nuclear Logistics LLC. (NL), a third-party supplier of safety-related equipment solutions to the nuclear industry owned by AZZ Inc., to a teaming agreement. Under the agreement, Westinghouse and AZZ Inc. will jointly market their safety-related equipment solutions to the nuclear industry.
